Hemorrhoids are a condition in which there is some swelling of veins in the anus. Women who are pregnant are susceptible to hemorrhoids during pregnancy due to having an increase of blood flow and blood pressure at the lower part of their bodies.

One of the simplest causes of hemorrhoids during pregnancy, is the existence of too much pressure. This typically occurs in both the pelvic and the rectal area. These are areas of extreme sensitivity where pregnant women are concerned. When one of these is put under pressure, tissue in the anal canal, fills with blood. This is a natural response to the pressure.

Try to make sure that you eat a diet that is high in fiber when pregnant. Yes, we know you are craving doughnuts, but try to add fruit, vegetables and whole grains to your daily intake of food, which will help prevent constipation and excess straining.

If you are pregnant and notice one or more of the following signs, its likely you have a hemorrhoid. Signs include blood coating the stool, blood on the toilet paper, an itchy anus, a mound of skin coming out of the anus and pain while sitting down or during bowel movement.

It is also very important that you take a well balanced diet during pregnancy which should meet the increased requirement of the body during pregnancy. Try to consume lot of fluid and fruit juices as they help in keeping the bowel soft. Doctors also suggest consuming at least 7 to 8 glasses of water daily.

Some of the more common herbs you can use to help cure hemorrhoids during pregnancy are aloe, birch sap, canlendula, centella, pilewort, horsetail, marshmallow, olive leaf extract, soy, rosehip, tea tree oil and white lily.

Some suggest that the ice compress is much more soothing when it the content is saturated with witch hazel. The bark of this shrub helps shrinking the swollen blood vessels back to its normal size. You could alternate application of the cold compress and the sitz bath, respectively.

Always take a well balanced diet rich in essential vitamins and minerals. This is very important during pregnancy as you need to meet the increased requirement of your body during pregnancy. Consume lots of water and juices and keep your body hydrated.

Believe it or not, apple cider vinegar can actually help the veins to shrink and also aid in getting the bleeding to stop. If you apply the vinegar directly to the hemorrhoids and also take it orally with maybe some honey to help with taste, your bulging veins may be reduced in as quickly as 24 hours-3 days.

Try not to sit or stand in the same position for long periods of time. Having a high fiber diet can help you from constipation condition. Drink a lot of water, at least eight to ten glasses per day would be great. And try not to push hard for your bowel movement.
